Jason Palmi lives on Lake Conroe in Montgomery, Texas, with his wife of 35 years. Together they have raised two sons and now enjoy watching their family continue to grow, with one son and daughter-in-law nearby and the other son on the West Coast. Outside of writing and teaching, Jason enjoys spending time with family, cooking pizza, traveling, staying active, and pursuing a variety of outdoor activities.
After a 31-year career with the Sacramento Police Department, Jason retired in 2017 having served as a patrol officer, field training officer, sergeant, driving instructor, and police academy instructor. His passion for mentoring and developing others led him into higher education, where he instructs Criminal Justice courses for Sacramento City College, Lake Tahoe Community College, Houston City College, and Sam Houston State University.Through his writing and teaching, Jason shares a message of Purpose and Peace Beyond the Badge.
While inspired by his law enforcement experience, the "badge" represents much more than a police badge—it can be a name tag, ID card, job title, rank, position, or any role that becomes part of our identity. Jason's message is simple: true fulfillment comes not from what we do, but from who we are and the purpose we choose to pursue beyond the labels we wear. He believes purpose and peace are not reserved for retirement or major life transitions but can be discovered and cultivated at any stage of life, career, or personal journey.
